Grooming Tricks: Having Great Hair Has Never Been So Remarkably Easy

I’ve always believed change to be the only constant. As exciting as trends arrive, it’s as quickly as they go.
Riding on the wave of seasonal change, you too can amp up your style game with new hair styles.

I met up with PREP Creative Director Maurice Chee to talk about Spring and Summer hairstyles to try in the corporate boardroom, at weekend brunch and even for your next girls night out!

“All the looks were chosen for Spring/Summer–the hair is pulled away from the face to battle the heat and we featured lots of curls as the flirty look is in-season.”

The Up Do
“An updo instantly adds a touch of glam. In addition, hair that’s put up in an updo will hold its style much easier so you won’t have to worry about maintaining the style on a big night out.”

Simplified tutorial:
Step 1: Apply heat protector to hair and curl with curling tongs or iron after.
Step 2: Take small sections of hair around 2-3 inch-width and twist it. Pin it up with bobby pins after.
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 until all hair is up in a low loose bun.

The Sleek Ponytail
“This look is suitable for corporate events because of its clean, minimalist, and fuss-free look.”

Simplified tutorial:
Step 1: Apply heat protector to hair and straighten hair with iron to achieve a sleek look.
Step 2: Tie hair into a low pony tail with an elastic band and leave a section of hair untied below.
Step 3: Wrap the remaining section of hair around the pony tail and secure it with bobby pins.

The Half Braid
“This look is suitable for a night out–the loose waves cascades down the side of the face adds a glam factor, and the braid along the nape keeps hair looking fresh (even after a party night out)!”

Simplified tutorial:
Step 1: Apply heat protector to hair and curl hair with curling tongs or iron after.
Step 2: Start from above one ear and braid the hair along the nape of your neck to the other side.
Step 3: About two-thirds of the way through, stop braiding and pin the braid down. Tuck the pins under the remaining hair to complete the look.
