Ongoing/Upcoming Designer Collaborations To Look Out For

A taste of luxury has never been more affordable than in this day and age. Increasingly, high-end labels and popular retailers are pooling their resources together to put up collaborations that serve to send fashion fans into overdrive. Despite it being a blatant marketing strategy, many of us still buy into the hype because we can get the best of both worlds at price points that we can finally afford.

Well, keep your eyes peeled because more are coming your way and we’ve listed them below.

Alright, so this one’s (kinda) old news. But in light of all the confusion surrounding the cancelled pop-ups and Japan-only restock, we just wanted you to know that you can find selected pieces from this extremely hyped-up collaboration here.

Tommy Hilfiger x Vetements

After its successful team up with Gigi Hadid, the American label is now turning to Zurich-based streetwear brand Vetements for a unisex collaboration. It will include items such as hoodies, T-shirts, beanies and socks.

However, whether the collaboration will be a groundbreaking one remains yet to be seen—until next February that is. So far, we’ve only caught wind of a potential t-shirt that will have the Vetements logo emblazoned on the back while the Tommy Hilfiger logo is printed on the front.

Opening Ceremony x Vans Vault

Opening Ceremony and Vans Vault have shared a long-standing partnership. From ‘70s-inspired swanky suede to the first all-glitter Vans ever, the conjured collections have been nothing short of radical. Recently, they’ve also released the “Qi Pao II” collection, a successor to the 2016 “Qi Pao” collection that draws inspiration and pays homage to the traditional Mandarin gown.

Think metallic threads meticulously (and unconventionally) weaved into a classic pair of Vans’ slip-on in floral patterns—it’s extravagant for sure, just like how the Chinese like to do it.

Erdem x H&M

It has become almost instinctive to brace ourselves for an H&M designer collaboration announcement whenever mid-summer swings around. Yet, when the fast fashion brand made its decision to join forces with Erdem for an Autumn collection public, we were still positively dazed.

For those of you who find Erdem a rather unfamiliar moniker, it is a London-based label spearheaded by Erdem Moralioglu, who is considered one of fashion’s most romantic creators and has dressed celebrities such as Emma Stone, Ruth Negga and even the Duchess of Cambridge herself.

So expect exquisitely-crafted, famously-feminine posy dresses that will take you to a proverbial lavish garden party. And, for the first time ever, a men’s collection will be available too!

Set to launch on 2 November 2017, here’s a teaser film on the collection by the visionary Baz Luhrmann (director of ‘Moulin Rouge!’ and ‘The Great Gatsby’) below:
