We had a chat with Kasia on Boutique on 57 and her adventurous fashion undertakings.
How did BOUTIQUE ON 57 start?
I have always dreamed of offering luxurious fashion to women at discounted prices. Growing up in Poland, I was determined to move to New York and help women find their inner beauty and personal style. I began my journey 25 years ago, when I moved here to study Fashion Merchandising and Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NY. After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree, I then worked for Giorgio Armani and Gianni Versace where I was inspired by the brave, flamboyant, passionate women around me harnessing their creativity to shine.
In 2007, I founded Boutique on 57 and continued on my mission ever since.
What did you hope to achieve in introducing BOUTIQUE ON 57 to the (Asian) market?
Majority of our clients come from Asia and they are very fashion affluent. For the past few years, we have been experimenting with the Asian shopping phenomena worldwide. We found that there is a high demand for the great quality luxury goods. Affluent Asian women demand top-of-the-par, unique products – they want pieces that are an extension of who they are or what they have achieved.
How do you set yourself apart from other online retail companies? What is special about BOUTIQUE ON 57?
Our range of products are relative to the price. Besides carrying one-of-a-kind designer items, we also offer rare collector’s pieces at a reduced price of up to 75% off retail. We think that this is the most important parameter that clients consider while making a purchase. Moreover, we offer excellent customer service to boost buyers’ confidence when shopping with us.
What was the first luxury piece you ever owned?
My first mini Chanel pink quilted bag. I got it for my birthday almost 20 years ago and still have it in my closet.
What’s your favourite handbag in your closet?
I love bags that are simple, timeless and functional. They have to be lightweight with multiple pockets so I can easily find everything when I’m on the go. I am in love with the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas bags. They are great for traveling, gym, work, and practical for everyday wear. They are also affordable through resale websites. I never part with this one. It travels everywhere with me.

This season, we have a great collection from Gucci Crystal Collection Guccissima print bags. They are versatile, light and durable – they can serve all types of weather and conditions.
Who was your biggest influence when you first started your brand?
Definitely my husband. He always encourages me to shoot for the stars. Then of course, there were my clients too. They helped mould and encourage me to follow my dreams.
